Surveillance Detection Principles
The Southeast Wisconsin Homeland Security Partnership (SWHSP) is sharing the following training opportunity to raise awareness among our members and partners. We are not hosting or sponsoring this course, but encourage participation for those who may be interested.
Surveillance Detection Principles (SDP) is a four-hour, in-person course designed to provide participants with the knowledge and introductory skills needed to recognize hostile surveillance at facilities and events, conduct basic vulnerability assessments, and plan effective surveillance detection strategies.

Who Should Attend: This course is ideal for critical infrastructure owners and operators, public safety professionals, law enforcement, security officers, emergency managers, and private sector security professionals.

Hostile operations and the terrorist attack cycle
Detecting hostile surveillance activities
Identifying surveillance red zones and vulnerabilities
Developing surveillance detection plans
Additional Information:
Participants can earn 0.4 IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion.
Completion of the FEMA online course IS-914: Surveillance Awareness: What You Can Do is recommended but not required before attending.
A FEMA Student Identification (SID) number is required to register for this course.

Apply for the course:
Once you have your FEMA SID and password, go to https://cdp.dhs.gov/students.
Enter 25N-0850 SDP into the "Have a Promo Code?" box.
Complete the application fields, review, and submit.
Affirm and digitally sign your application by entering your name and FEMA SID password.
