SWHSP was founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in September 2004. It is the successor to the Milwaukee County Regional Homeland Security Partnership that was formed in 2003 in recognition of a post-9/11 need to provide awareness and preparedness between the various levels of government as well as the public and private sectors.
Today, SWHSP continues to unite organizations throughout Southeast Wisconsin working in collaboration to increase our region's disaster resiliency.
SWHSP unites public and private sector organizations in partnership to prepare for, respond to, and recover from critical incidents in the Southeast Wisconsin community.
SWHSP is governed by a Board of Directors dedicated to building the capacity of Southeast Wisconsin organizations to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
